Colour and landscape: Harris Tweed

A long break between posts here; my degree course has been dominant for a while.  But I was browsing back issues of Selvedge and returned to some photography that blew my mind the first time I saw them.

These are photos taken from Selvedge Issue 60, taken by Ian Lawson on Harris and published in his book ‘From the Land Comes the Cloth‘.  They are stunning photos in their own right but I also love the way they show the direct translation of landscape colour into textiles.   I would be interested to take the same presentational approach to my own work, inspiration alongside product.Screen Shot 2016-08-26 at 19.08.24Screen Shot 2016-08-26 at 19.08.35Screen Shot 2016-08-26 at 19.08.43Screen Shot 2016-08-26 at 19.08.57
